2016 Summer Program

Seventeenth Annual CILLDI Summer School: July 4 – 22, 2016 

The University of Alberta is pleased to present the 17th annual Summer School of Canadian Indigenous Languages and Literacy Development Institute in July 2016.  Learn an Indigenous language or gain expertise in the areas of linguistics, endangered language documentation and revitalization, language and literacy learning, second language teaching and curriculum development, and language policy and planning. This program provides a unique opportunity to earn university credit while learning about Indigenous languages and culture. Some CILLDI courses lead to a Community Linguist Certificate (CLC).

Location : University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta

Course Offerings : Courses will be offered in one of two blocks. Students may register for a maximum of one course per block (*3) from the courses listed below. Courses marked by CLC lead to the Community Linguist Certificate.

**A free Computer Workshop for CILLDI students will be held on University of Alberta campus on the Saturday and Sunday prior to the start of CILLDI 2016 (July 2 -3). The workshop will introduce students to basic computer functions and will help prepare them for a successful CILLDI experience.
