CILLDI Summer School Bursary Program

There are a few funding sources available to help students attend CILLDI. We strongly encourage you to contact your band's Educational Office or your Treaty/Tribal office for financial assistance in the first instance. Many of you may still be eligible for funding within your own community or workplace. However, in case you are an individual who is ineligible for financial assistance because you are not affiliated with a band or settlement, because you live off reserve, because you aren’t registered in a full-time degree program, or because you have already received the maximum level of funding available through your band or settlement office, there are a few bursary programs for which you might be eligible.

U of A Provost Bursary for CILLDI Students

The University of Alberta's Provost Office assists CILLDI in sponsoring bursaries to support individuals interested in pursuing courses at CILLDI.

U of A Provost Bursary applicants must complete the application form and submit it with a letter of support from members of their community (such as an education or culture director, tribal chief or councilor, Métis chair/president, tribal college personnel, Elder). Only a limited number of these bursaries are available. The CILLDI Provost Bursaries will cover room and board in St. Joseph's Residence Hall during the Institute, along with tuition for two CILLDI courses.  Note that these bursaries do not cover travel costs.

To apply for the Provost Bursary, fill out the 2016 Bursary Application Form. If you can't download the form, please contact the CILLDI Office and a copy will be mailed to you.

The Bursary application deadline is Monday, March 21st 2016. Please submit your completed application with a letter of support to the CILLDI office by that date (we will take email, fax, or mailed in applications - please see "contact us" for our address and fax number).
